Corrections log

Effective date: Last updated 2026-06-04

Regulatory writing decays. When a rule changes, a deadline moves, or a citation gets superseded, the change is recorded here with the affected article, the date of the correction, and the source that triggered it. This page is the audit trail for our own editorial work — the same standard we ask food operators to keep on their HACCP records.

1. How we count a correction

A change to a published article counts as a correction when it:

  • Changes a regulatory citation (a section number, a CFR title, a rule name) — because someone reading the article to comply needs to know the citation shifted.
  • Changes a numerical fact (a compliance date, a cap, a fee, a statistic, a recall outcome).
  • Changes a recommendation that an operator might act on (a threshold, a procedure, a checklist item).
  • Fixes a factual error reported by a reader and verified by us.

What does not count and isn’t logged here:

  • Typo fixes, grammar tweaks, broken-link repairs, layout changes.
  • Voice / clarity rewrites that don’t change a claim or a citation.
  • New articles, new sections within an article, or expansions that add content without changing existing claims.
  • Image swaps, hero updates, frontmatter changes (title, subtitle, description).

2. Update timing

When a triggering event happens (final rule published, deadline moved, cited statistic superseded), we update every affected article within 7 calendar daysand log the change here. The 7-day target is the same standard we apply when a food operator discovers an out-of-spec record during a self-audit — document the finding, correct it, log the correction, move on.

For deadline moves (e.g. the FSMA 204 extension to July 20, 2028) the update is usually same-day, because operators reading the affected article are likely planning around the old date.

3. The log

No published corrections to log yet. This page launched 2026-06-04. Future entries appear below in reverse-chronological order, with the most recent at the top.

Entry format

Each entry will follow this shape:

Date: YYYY-MM-DD
Article: /silo/article-slug
Change: short description of what was changed
Reason: source that triggered the change (e.g., 90 FR 12345 published
YYYY-MM-DD; CFIA guidance updated YYYY-MM-DD; reader report
        verified against eCFR YYYY-MM-DD)

4. How to report a possible error

If you read an article and think a citation or a fact is wrong, email corrections@haccplan.com with the URL and the specific claim. We respond within 5 business days.

If the claim is wrong, the correction goes in within 7 days and the change appears on this page. If the claim is right, we reply with the source — sometimes the source is buried in a footnote or implied by a section reference; we’d rather make the citation explicit than leave a reader uncertain.
